A couple of weeks ago Active Devon, held the annual Devon Coaching Conference, with the support of Team Devon and UCP Marjon. All the staff at Excelsior went and found the day extremely beneficial, in developing our coaching delivery and knowledge. There were a vast range of workshops and coaching observation to participate in. It was a day that was well worth going to.
(Got a flat tire on the drive home though, and couldn’t get the spare tire out so had to call the RAC! How embrassing! )

Bondachurek highlights research from Eastern Europe that shows that performing repeated jumps is more effective in improving sporting performance than doing single jumps for distance.
Working on this principle with a group of Athletes last week a couple of things need to be in place: Balance and strength.
Without both of these, the jumps will not be effective. The athletes who have been working with me for a year, have enough of both to do repeated hops rapidly over 15 metres.
