With Superbowl XLVI on later tonight, I thought it would be good to share some of my favourite quotes from Bill Parcells.
Parcells won 2 Superbowls as Head Coach of the New York Giants, then took the New England Patriots to another Superbowl (where they lost to the Packers).

In 1984 my schoolfriends and I got excited about the Channel 4 American Football highlights package on Sunday nights. Broadcast in the early evening, with Bonnie Tyler theme music, and nothing else on, it was quite an eye opener. (To set the tone for just about all my athletes there was no youtube, mobile phones, internet, and only 4 TV channels).

Herschel Walker has won his 2nd pro MMA fight at the age of 48.
So, he was an NFL running back, an Olympic Bobsleigher and now an MMA fighter.
He is an example to us all.

With 5 must win matches successfully negotiated, the Green Bay Packers have made it to the Superbowl on Sunday.
They definitely have had to win with their B Game at times, relying on an unheralded running attack and some great defensive efforts.

Herschel Walker is a familiar name for those of us bought up on American Football in the 1980s. His elusive running style was compounded by his physical presence. I remember him saying that he didn’t touch weights, but did 1000 press ups and 1000 sit ups a day.
It is interesting coaching young athletes today who think that 10 of each is a beasting.
